Sarah’s CX tourer
Sarah wanted a bike to be her companion on journeys both short and long. She wanted a tourer that wouldn’t shirk the dirt but which could be lively enough to enjoy riding on a daily basis. She had a clear idea of what the finished bike would look like: a classic silhouette, Cinelli Laser blue paint, Italian components and reliable disk brakes. To ensure the handling was what I wanted it to be, I built a custom steel fork with a rake optimised for her bike. Sarah sourced and supplied all of her parts but entrusted me with the final build. Here’s the result:

Frame: Fillet brazed Columbus Zona tubing with carved seat sleeve
Fork: Traditional flat crown with Reynolds 853 disk blades and ISO disk mount.
Wheels: H+Son rims laced to Chris King hubs
Components: Campagnolo Athena groupset with Avid BB disks. Chris King headset
Finishing Kit: Thomson stem and seatpost, Brookes Cambium saddle.
