The Hungry Monkey is the original semi-stock hardtail frame from Mercer Bikes.
The Hungry Monkey is a do-it-all, versatile modern trail hardtail. Designed around a 140-150mm travel fork, 650b wheels and 2.4” trail rubber it should be all the bike you really need. Responsive and agile, the Hungry Monkey proves that steel really is real.

Fillet brazed from Columbus Zona tubing, the Hungry Monkey has a 12mm through axle rear end in either standard or boost configuration and it is built with Mercer’s very own, in-house through ends. A dropper friendly seat tube and stealth port makes it simple to install a dropper post. A no-nonsense, 73mm BSA threaded BB will accept most modern cranksets and there are two sets of water bottle bosses for those bigger days on the hill. A 44mm headtube will accept all modern forks with tapered steerers.
The Hungry Monkey is available in Medium, Large and Extra-Large sizes. Standard finish options include unfiled “Factory Fillets” and a single colour powder coat. Smooth, radiused “Deluxe Fillets” are an optional add on as well as custom paint finishing and custom geometry options.
