Dave’s world tourer

This is Dave’s World Tourer. Dave asked me to build him a bike capable of traversing continents in comfort. He wanted something retro and classic. It needed lots of luggage capacity. It needed to be serviceable in the sticks. And it needed to be sky blue. He had a name for it – ‘Kabadoo’. This is what I came up with:

3 qtr front

Frame and fork: Dedacciai COM tubing, fillet brazed with carved seat sleeve and sliding Tange dropouts. Lugged, low trail fork. Rack and fender mounts. Extra bottle mount under the down tube.

Racks: Custom silver soldered, polished stainless steel racks.

Wheels: Mavic 317 rims laced to XT hubs.

Components: Deore derailleur, cranks and brakes. Dura Ace bar end shifters mounted on Paul’s Thumbies bar mounts

Finishing kit: Broookes Swift saddle, Ritchey Classic stem and seat post, BX bars
