And she's done! One of the hardest parts of building this frame has been deciding when it's finished. On fillets like these there's so much real estate to go over that there's always just that one little spot that needs a little extra emory love: it's been a real challenge to know when it's all done.

I think it's all done now. Maybe.
.
I'm sure that frame builders everywhere have a list of wish frames they'd like to build during their careers. Maybe they're frames which inspired them to take up the torch, maybe they're frames their heros piloted to victory. Building a finned, filletted tribute to the crazy low pro racers of the 80s has long been a dream of mine and I'll forever be grateful to Jared from @upcycles
for giving me this opportunity.
.
With echoes of Cinelli's Laser and Rossin's mad Russian track frames, this one will be etched into my psyche for a long time to come.
.
I fear my fingers will never fully recover from all this fillet work.
.
But that's OK.
.
I can't wait to see this one coloured in and scaring the citizens of Cape Town.

The finned fillets are taking shape on Jared's new frame...

This pair of stealthy gravel frames were commissio

This pair of stealthy gravel frames were commissioned by cycling buddies, Pat and Marc. They are about to be sent over to @eastcitycycles to be built up tomorrow.
The frames are fillet brazed from @columbus_official Zona tubing and they both sport custom hand cut brass headbadge and internal brake and derailleur routing.
They have brazeons for plenty of bottles as well as pannier racks and the @curvecycling GXR Seek forks up front have "anything cage" mounts for bike packing versatility.
I can't wait to see these all built up and rolling : I'm sure they've some very exciting trips coming up.

Something a little different was going down in the workshop today. I've never built a webbed fillet brazed frame before and this was my first time bumbling around with the technique. Not an easy way to build bikes- but I'm excited to see how it looks once the fillets are all cleaned up.

Here's a fresh @columbus_official Max fork with an internal crown and with our own in-house laser cut fork ends. Special thanks to my assistant @rolfieus7777777 for his painstaking filing and finish work. This fork still has a way to go, some stainless fork end faces and some dressing work to be done but it's already looking buttery and elegant. I look forward to the rest of this special build coming together.

I find building kids bikes really satisfying. There's never much discussion about aesthetics and its all about function. In the end the little frames always look so cool that I almost wish I were 6 again.
This one will soon be off to broaden horizons for a young Kian from Elgin.

It's New Bike Day for Stephen.

@jared_bmc did an amazing job on the metallic fade! The frame is fillet brazed from a mix of @columbus_official Zona and SL tubing and up front lives a @curvecycling GXR Seek fork. The frame features internal brake hose routing, a custom carved seat sleeve and our own in house machined through ends and disc flat mount.
The bike is built up with @rideshimano GRX and some @eastoncycling and some @ritcheylogic bits. @dtswiss wheels should keep things rolling smoothly.
